Abstract

|
Abnormal ribs showing bony fusion and bridging were encountered during the routine work-up of chest X-ray for a 25-year-old-woman. This case showed that the first rib on the left side was fused with the second rib along its length posteriorly as a type of bony fusion. On the left side, first rib and second rib were partially blended with each other in the middle of the shaft as a type of bony bridging, The patient has suffered from numbness in her right hand and right arm and chronic neck pain for several years, These symptoms were thought to be from the thoracic outlet syndrome.
